Description
Sri Lanka has always been a land where nature and artistry meet, producing gemstones of exceptional beauty and cultural heritage. Among its treasures, the combination of green zircon and garnet holds a unique charm. The recently crafted Ceylon Natural Green Zircon and Garnet Trio is a fine example of this harmony.
The centerpiece is a 1.98 ct green zircon, cut in a precise octagon cross cut measuring 8.15 × 5.7 × 4.3 mm. Known for its brilliance and dispersion, zircon is often mistaken for diamond due to its fire and luster. Unlike heated zircons commonly seen in the market, this gem remains in its natural, unheated form, carrying with it the purity and authenticity that collectors and designers highly value.
Accompanying the zircon are two triangular-cut garnets, each weighing 0.25 ct and measuring 6.6 × 4.2 mm. Garnet has long been admired for its deep red hues and symbolic association with passion, energy, and vitality. When paired with green zircon, the contrast creates a sophisticated palette—red symbolizing strength and green symbolizing balance.
This trio was sourced as rough material from Rakwana village around mining in Sri Lanka, a region celebrated for its gemstone diversity. The stones were cut and polished in-house by City of Gem, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and balance. The loupe clean to VVS clarity highlights their high-quality grade, making them excellent candidates for jewelry design.
For jewelers and collectors, this trio offers versatility. Whether set as a modern three-stone pendant, a stylish cocktail ring, or incorporated into a bespoke design, the combination is both rare and timeless. It’s not merely about owning gemstones—it’s about owning a story from the earth, cut to perfection for human admiration.
